This statistic shows the number of passenger movements using domestic routes in the United Kingdom between 2003 and 2018. Northern Ireland was the most frequently travelled to destination by ferry, although the number of passengers travelling this way fell from 2.7 million in 2003 to two million in 2018.
In the period of consideration, crossings on Northern Ireland routes were consistently three or more times higher than those on Isle of Man routes, and crossings on Isle of Man routes were slightly more than twice those on Channel Island routes.
