Number of heavy goods vehicles in England in 2020, by region
There were clear disparities in the repartition of licensed heavy goods vehicles (HGV) in England in 2020. While the number of licensed HGVs in London fell below 19,000, there were at least three times as many in the regions with the highest number of licensed heavy goods vehicles: the South East, the North West and the West Midlands. The North East was the region with the least amount of HGVs licensed in that year, coming at just under 15,000 vehicles.
