This statistic displays the gold mining employment by selected top companies as of 2013, in selected countries. During that year, there were 10,035 employees and contractors in the Australian gold mining industry. As the mining of gold and other minerals are non-renewable, care must be taken to support sustainable development in mining locations. The operations reflected in this survey cover 732 metric tons, representing 24 percent.
