Grouds for applying for financing of small and medium enterprises in the UK 2017 This statistic presents the grounds for small and medium enterprises (SME) to seek external finance according to SME employers who had applied for financing in the United Kingdom (UK) as of 2017. Approximately 57 percent of companies had done so to acquire working capital to fund general growth. A further 42 percent claimed to have applied for finance to cover a short term gap until funds were received from customers.
