The United Kingdom's emission trading scheme (UK-ETS) generated revenue of 4.56 billion British pounds in 2022. The UK had previously participated in the European Union Emission Trading Scheme (EU-ETS), but replaced this system with the UK-ETS in January 2021, following the country's exit from the EU.
