Data on the annual figures of religious hate crimes reported by the police in England and Wales from April 2011 to March 2020 show that throughout this period, with the exception of 2012/13, there has been an increase of 6,948 reported crimes. The peak reached in 2018/19 with approximately 8.6 thousand reported cases. However, in the most recent period, the number fell to 8.8 thousand reported cases.
