Absolute poverty rate among families in Italy 2012-2021
In 2020, the incidence rate of absolute poverty in Italy was 7.7 percent. After a increase up to seven percent in 2018, in 2019 this figure dropped by 0.6 percentage points. In 2020, instead, the incidence of absolute poverty in Italy increased again. In total, about two million families in Italy were living in poverty as of 2020.
