Permits issued renovation residential buildings in Belgium 1996-2022, region

There were twice more building permits issued for the renovation of residential real estate in Flanders than in Wallonia in 2022. Meanwhile, the Brussels capital region had the lowest number of renovation projects authorizations at roughly 1,820 units. In 2022, approximately 18,720 building permits were issued in Flanders, which makes up for most of the home renovation permits issued in Belgium as a whole.
