Canadian mineral industry selenium discharges to surface and groudwater 2005-2014
This statistic shows the selenium discharges to surface and groundwater in Canada from the mineral industry from 2005 to 2014. In 2014, the discharges of selenium to groundwater and surface water from the mining/mineral industry in Canada amounted to 52.3 metric tons, an amount much larger than usual because of the Mount Polley dam breach that happened in British Columbia that year, which contributed 33 metric tons of the total selenium discharges to water in that year.
