Total expenditure of visitors from selected countries to Australia FY 2016-2023
In the year ending June 2023, visitors to Australia from China spent a total of over 4.1 billion Australian dollars. This represents a significant increase from the 2022 financial year, when visitors from China spent around 698 million Australian dollars, which can be attributed to travel restrictions resulting from the coronavirus pandemic. Pre-pandemic, spending by visitors from China had reached almost 12 billion Australian dollars.
