In 2020, 43 percent of online purchases in Brazil were bought by credit card, while 17 percent were paid for via e-wallets. Largely due to the COVID-19 pandemic, checkouts using PostPay fell four percentage points from 2019, accounting for 12 percent of e-commerce spending in this country. This payment system consists of a boleto bancário, a barcoded ticket that can be paid on ATMs, in bank agencies, post offices, lottery agencies, and through internet banking.
