Deaths from chronic liver diseases and cirrhosis in Spain 2005-2021
In 2021, the number of deaths due to chronic liver diseases and cirrhosis in Spain amounted to around 4.6 thousand cases, up from about 4.4 thousand deaths registered a year prior. This figure showed an overall downtrend compared to 2005, when approximately 5.7 thousand people died from chronic liver diseases and cirrhosis in the European country. During the same period, deaths from chronic liver diseases and cirrhosis were more prevalent among men than women in Spain.
