India: raw cotton production 2021

In financial year 2020, cotton production in India amounted to approximately 36.5 million bales. Favorable trade policies and increasing disposable income led to an increase in cotton production over the years. This matched the growth in its demand in domestic consumption and exports. Along with cotton, man-made fabric production was an important indicator for the country's textile and apparel market.
