This statistic shows the share of small to medium-sized enterprises in Canada that are familiar with terms associated with cyber crime as of September 2017. The findings show that as of the date of survey, nine percent of responding SMBs in Canada were not aware of the term ransomware. There is still room for improvement with awareness of terms associated with cyber crime among SMEs, with only 50 percent saying that they were very familiar with the term malware and 35 percent saying the same when asked how familiar they were with two-factor authentication.
