Renewable energy shares in energy consumption in the European Union 2012-2021
Renewables source share in the gross final energy consumption has continuously increased in the European Union over the years. Between 2012 and 2021, figures rose from 14.2 percent to 21.8 percent in 2021. The share of renewable energy in final energy consumption peaked in 2020 at 22 percent.
