This statistic depicts the chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) hospitalization rate in Italy in 2016, by region. The rate was calculated as average of the CODP hospitalization rates, registered in the provincial capitals of each region. The northern regions Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany and Lombardy recorded greatest number of COPD admissions per 10,000 population. Among the southern regions, Apulia and Sicily were the regions where pulmonary diseases were more common.
