The average cost of sending remittances to South Africa decreased from 8.39 percent of the total amount of remitance in the first quarter of 2014 to 6.56 percent in the second quarter of 2022. The quarter with the lowest cost of sending remittances was the fourth quarter of 2021, when it cost 6.2 percent of the total amount of remittance.
