Europe: young adult views on same-sex marriage 2017

This statistic presents the share of young adults** who said they are opposed to legal same-sex marriage in Europe from 2015 to 2017. Moldova, Russia and Ukraine were leading the ranking with a share of more than 80 percent of young adults who were against same-sex marriage. On the other hand, less than ten percent of the young adults in Sweden, Denmark, Spain and Belgium, were against same-sex marriage.

*Surveys in Central and Eastern European countries were conducted face to face from June 2015 to July 2016 in 16 languages, with a nationally representative sample of about 1,400 or more adults in each country.
The surveys in Western Europe were conducted using landline and mobile telephone from April to August 2017 in 12 languages with a nationally representative sample size of about 1,500 or more adults in each country.
