A survey conducted in 2022 investigated which were the reasons that brought Italian parents not to be interested in vaccinating their children against human papillomavirus (HPV). According to data, almost 26 percent of the parents interviewed had neither vaccinated their children against HPV nor were interested in it. The main reason for this decision was related to the belief that their children were too young to receive a vaccine against a sexually transmitted disease.
