Electricity generation in the United Kingdom 1990-2021
In 2021, electricity generation in the United Kingdom (UK) reached the lowest figure in at least three decades, amounting to some 308 terawatt-hours. In comparison to a decade earlier, this represented a decline of more than 16 percent. Since the beginning of the century, electricity generation in the UK peaked at nearly 400 terawatt-hours, recorded in both 2003 and 2005.
