In the fiscal year 2022, more than 62 percent of visitors to the Tokyo Disney theme parks were from the Kanto region in Japan, which includes Tokyo and six other prefectures. For the first time since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, visitors from abroad made up a significant portion of all theme park goers.
There are two Disney theme parks located in Chiba Prefecture in Japan: Tokyo Disneyland since 1983 and Tokyo DisneySea since 2001.
