However, at over 70 percent, transport via passenger car dominates the modal split in Austria, with little competition from other transport modes. When it comes to the transportation of goods, road freight transport also dominates the modal split at around 80 percent.

As mentioned previously, Vienna ranks as Austria’s strongest-performing airport for passenger transport, and the same goes for air freight transport. Furthermore, Austrian rail logistics and transportation companies are ideally located at the core of four out of nine of Europe’s powerful core rail network corridors: Scandinavian-Mediterranean, Baltic-Adriatic, Orient/East-Med, and Alpine-Western Balkan.
