This statistic depicts the results of a survey conducted between September and October 2018 about the number of hours women employees work in India, based on their marital status. Around 26 percent of the surveyed respondents who were married or single said they worked less than eight hours a day. A majority of the women who were married, single or in uncategorized relationship status worked between eight and ten hours a day.

The survey was conducted using an online interview administered to members of a panel comprising of over 30,000 individuals. The survey classified women as 'married', 'single' or 'other', in which the 'other' category refers to unmarried women who may be in a relationship, or would rather not say.
