Opinions on the burqa ban in the Netherlands 2019
As of 2019, the majority of respondents surveyed here expressed approval for the Partial Ban on Face-Covering Clothing Act, which is commonly known in the Netherlands as the "burqa ban". It was introduced in the Netherlands on August 1, 2019. Close to 75 percent of survey respondents indicated that they agreed with the ban, which prohibits the wearing of clothing covering the face in public buildings and on public transport. Meanwhile, one fifth of respondents surveyed disagreed with the ban on face-covering clothing, which includes the burqa and the niqab.
