The area illegally cultivated with coca crops in the Colombian department of Nariño amounted to around 41.9 thousand hectares in 2018, down from 45.7 thousand hectares a year earlier. Since 2013, the area cultivated with coca in the department had been consistently increasing. The department accounted for 25 percent of the illegally cultivated coca area in Colombia in 2018.
