In 2018, the area illegally cultivated with coca crops in the department of Chocó, Colombia amounted to around 2.16 thousand hectares, down from 2.6 thousand hectares a year earlier. That same year, the total land area used for illicit cultivation of coca in Colombia added up to 169 thousand hectares.
