Sulphur oxide emissions from cruise ship companies in Europe 2017

In 2017, the cruise company which emitted the highest volume of sulphur oxide (SOx) emissions in Europe was Costa Cruises. At 10.8 million kilograms of SOx, this was slightly ahead of the second ranked cruise company MSC Cruises.

Of the ten cruise companies displayed, half were owned by the British-American operator Carnival Corporation & plc. In 2017, Carnival had a market share of 44 percent of the worlds cruise industry.
