Share of municipal governments' civil engineering spending Japan FY 2020, by purpose
In the fiscal year 2020, municipal governments in Japan spent 49.7 percent of their total expenses for civil engineering works on city planning. In total, they disbursed almost 6.6 trillion Japanese yen on civil engineering. The city planning expenses consist of costs for roads, parks, and sewage lines maintenance, and land readjustment.
