Electric vehicle battery capacity by chemistry in Germany 2016-2018

According to data provided by EV-Volumes, nickel manganese cobalt oxide (NMC) batteries were the most popular EV battery in Germany. In 2018, NMC batteries with a combined capacity of 1,539 megawatt hours were delivered in the country, which was nearly five times the capacity reported two years previous.
Annual new registrations of electric cars in Germany picked up significantly in the past three years, amounting to 67,658 units in 2018.
