Government spending on EVs by vehicle type and selected regions 2022
Across the three countries or regions studied, battery-electric vehicles received most of the government's spending on electric vehicles. In China, government spending on BEVs reached around 17 billion current U.S. dollars in 2022, with Europe recording a similar investment at 13 billion current U.S. dollars. In contrast, the United States recorded the lowest governmental spending, at approximately two billion current U.S. dollars across vehicle type.
