Around half of respondents to an October 2022 survey in the United States reported intending to use the regular power grid to charge their electric vehicles. In Japan and South Korea, this share of respondents jumped to over 60 percent. In contrast, Germany recorded the largest share of participants who wanted to use alternative power sources for EV charging, at 29 percent.

The sample size includes 177 participants in China, 235 participants in Germany, 114 participants in India, 101 participants in Japan, 136 participants in South Korea, and 210 participants in the United States.
