As of August 2019, the vast majority of the surveyed adults and teenagers in the United States believes that the country needs to reduce its fossil fuel use to prevent further effects of climate change. U.S. adults showed more concern in this matter than teenagers, as 46 percent of the surveyed respondents over 18 years old stated that the country should drastically reduce the use of fossil fuels, compared to some 41 percent from respondents between 13 and 17 years old.
