
Vulnerability and readiness to climate change index in Africa 2019, by country
Africa concentrated the most vulnerable countries to climate change in 2019. According to the ND-GAIN Country Index, Chad scored 28.4 points, ranking in the last position out of 182 nations assessed worldwide. Together with Chad, the Central African Republic, Eritrea, Guinea-Bissau, and the Democratic Republic of Congo composed the five-bottom countries in the index, which evaluates vulnerability and readiness to the impacts of climate change. Of the 20 nations most vulnerable worldwide, 15 were in Africa. Mauritius, Tunisia, and Morocco presented the best performance on the continent, with lower vulnerability to climate change.
