Global production capacity of methanol 2018-2021
The global production capacity of methanol reached approximately 160 million metric tons in 2021. The global methanol production capacity is expected to grow by more than 80 percent between 2021 and 2030. This growth is attributable to planned methanol plants, mainly located in the Former Soviet Union, the Middle East, and Asia, that are expected to come online between 2021 and 2030.
