Bicycle ownership by type in the UK 2019
In 2019, the most prevalent bicycle type in the United Kingdom was the mountain bike, with 40 percent of respondents claiming ownership. The proportion of respondents owning a ‘classic’, traditional or city bike was marginally greater than the proportion owning a road bike, with 21 percent and 20 percent respectively. The least prevalent bicycle type in the United Kindgdom is the e-bike with only 6 percent of respondents claiming ownership.
