The majority of respondents to a 2018 survey across the 28 European Union member states said they were somewhat or very confident that they could identify fake news. Just over one quarter said they were not very, or not at all confident. However, levels of confidence varied from country to country. In Denmark, there was a lot of confidence in their ability to identify fake news. Whereas in Spain, people weren't so confident.
