One-third of online fashion retail companies in Russia employed external services for e-mail newsletter management as of 2020. Another one-third did not work with such method for promotional purposes, while over 20 percent used a self-developed system.

The study included stores selling only clothes and shoes, as well as stores for which this is the main but not the only category and two universal marketplaces - Wildberries.ru and Ozon.ru.
