Attitude toward meat consumption in the U.S. 2019, by age group
As of 2019, a survey was conducted among consumers in the U.S. (United States) to determine their opinion on meat consumption. More specifically, people of different ages were asked whether, in their opinion, meat was part of the American identity. It emerged that the majority of the U.S. interviewees who agreed with such statement (76 percent) belonged to the so-called "baby boomers", i.e. those aged between 54 and 72. By contrast, only 61 percent of the "generation Z" consumers, born between 1997 and 2019, were found to share the same opinion.
