Prosecuting former Government members Romania 2015-2019

The President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis, approved ten requests to prosecute former ministers in 2016. This was the highest number of approved requests in the last five years. In 2019 no motions to pursue former government members were approved.

In 2015, the requests for criminal prosecution were approved for: Roman Petre, Voiculescu Gelu-Voican, Stănculescu Victor Atanasie and Videanu Adriean.

In 2016, the requests for criminal prosecution were approved for: Homoștean George, Nica Dan, Țicău Silvia Adriana, Athanasiu Alexandru, Tobă Petre, Tănăsescu Nicolae Mihai, Popescu Ioan Dan, Vlădescu Teodor Gheorghe Sebastian, Popa Gheorghe, and Oprea Gabriel.

In 2017, the requests for criminal prosecution were approved for: Sandu Gabriel and Valerian Vreme.

In 2018, the requests for criminal prosecution were approved for: Dumitrescu Emil, Iliescu Ion, Roman Petre, Voiculescu Gelu-Voican, Sandu Gabriel, Vlădescu Sebastian-Teodor Gheorghe.
