As of September 2020, the European countries with the highest volume of green bonds issued by companies debuting on the green bond market were the Netherlands, Norway and the UK, each with five issuers. In 2019 this honor went to Sweden, with 11 issuers. Green bonds are fixed income securities which finance investments with environmental or climate-related benefits.
