Expected revenue and loss due to coronavirus in event industry Netherlands in 2020

The original prediction that the Dutch event industry in the Netherlands would reach a revenue of nearly 7.5 million revenue in 2020, suffered a great blow due to COVID-19. As of March 2020, the industry expected to see nearly half of that prediction evaporate, expecting a loss of 3.5 billion euros. Conferences and meetings are taking the hardest hit, with a revenue loss of 1.23 billion euros.

The leisure industry are forecasted to see decreases of over ten percent in their added value, making them one of Netherlands' hardest hit industries of COVID-19 in 2020. This according to calculations made by economists from Dutch bank ABN AMRO.
