The AEX Index, the index of the 25 biggest stocks on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange, saw heavy losses early March 2020 due to economic uncertainties following the coronavirus pandemic. On top, there was an unexpected decrease in oil prices, as announced by Saudi Arabia over a dispute with Russia. This caused stocks like Royal Dutch Shell, the Netherlands' biggest listed company, to go down significantly.
