As of October 2020, four medical institutions were designated for a treatment of specific infectious diseases, which are classified into category I, II, and new infectious diseases. A total of ten beds were available in those hospitals during the measured time period.
Category I infectious diseases include diseases such as viral hemorrhagic fever (Ebola, CCHF, etc.), variola, and pestis. Category II refers to diseases such as poliomyelitis, tuberculosis, diphtheriae, MERS, SARS, and avian influenza (H5N1/H7N9).

2. class I institutions can treat category I and II infectious diseases.

(1) for category II infectious diseases
(2) for tuberculosis
