Over 50 thousand restaurants registered for the UK government's 'Eat Out to Help Out Scheme' in July 2020. By August 2, 72,089 individual restaurant premises had registered for the discount scheme, to help their business attract more customers following the devastating impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The scheme encourages people to eat out at restaurants by offering them discounts on certain days of the week, which they can then claim back from the government.
