Household structure in Nigeria 2018, by area

In 2018, Nigerian households counted on average 4.7 members. Households in rural areas were larger than those in urban areas. More specifically, rural households had on average five members, whereas urban households registered 4.3 people. Moreover, data show that large households with eight members or more were more widespread in rural areas of Nigeria.
