Nuclear-family households Japan 2000-2020
In 2020, the total number of private households in Japan amounted to more than 123 million, with more than 54 percent being nuclear-family households. The size of of households has been on a gradual decrease over the last decades, resulting in the declining number of nuclear-family households, while one-person households are on the increase.
