Share of attitudes toward immigration in Australia 2019
In 2019, 67 percent of respondents who completed a survey on immigration in Australia indicated that they believed immigrants strengthened the country due to their hard work and talents. While positive opinions on immigration generally outweighed negative responses, there was close to an even split of opinions when respondents were asked if they believed immigrants were a burden on the social welfare system.
