COVID-19 in Mexico: impact on mental health 2020

The first cases of COVID-19 in Mexico were recorded on February 28, 2020. As a result, lockdown measures were instated by the federal government through a program known as 'Jornada de sana distancia'. The lockdown was in place in a national level between March 23 and May 20, 2020. According to a survey carried out in the country during May 2020, almost half of respondents considered their mental health to have been very or somewhat affected by the situation. In comparison, 22 percent of Mexicans surveyed stated not feeling at all affected.
