Percentage change in sales of gardening items in Italy 2020
In May 2020, the sales value of gardening items in Italy grew by 79 percent compared to May 2019. In March and April, the value of garden equipment sold in mass merchandiser and DIY superstores recorded a significant drop. On March 9, 2020, the Italian government announced a national lockdown to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. On May 4, Italy started to ease this emergency measure.
