Supplementary notes

Gender Parity Index (GPI) measures the relative access to education of both males and females.

The source indicates that adult literacy rate is the ratio of females to males from age 15 to 24 who can both read and write as well as understand a short simple statement about their everyday life. It also states that literacy rate is an outcome indicator to measure educational attainment, adding that data on literacy are compiled by the UNESCO Institute for Statistics based on national censuses and household surveys and, for countries without literacy data, by using the Global Age-Specific Literacy Projection Model (GALP).

Ghana's general population and housing census (RGPH) is carried out every 10 years, and the last one was in 2010, as of September 2020. Some statistics may have been compiled using the GALP.
